We recommend that all Apple users install Club 1000+ as a web app for easier access, supported push notifications and a smoother overall experience. You can install it on Windows too.

Why install the web app?

The installed web app gives Club 1000+ its own icon and window, so you can open it directly without finding a browser tab. You use the same account and saved records. This is the website installed through your browser; on iPhone and iPad, you do not need an App Store download.

On iPhone and iPad, adding the app to your Home Screen is required for web push notifications on iOS or iPadOS 16.4 or later. A regular Safari bookmark or Favorite does not enable them. Installation does not turn notifications on automatically: finish the notification setup below. Keep an internet connection to load and save your records.

Choose your device: iPhone or iPad, Windows with Edge, Windows or Mac with Chrome, or Mac with Safari.

iPhone and iPad: Add to Home Screen

  1. Open Safari. If you followed a link in an email or another app, open it in Safari first.
  2. Visit club1000plus.com/app/index.php. Install from this app page rather than the Help page.
  3. Tap Share (the square with an upward arrow). Depending on your Safari layout, you may need to open the page menu first, then tap Share.
  4. Scroll down the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen. If it is missing, scroll to Edit Actions and add that action.
  5. Use Club 1000+ as the name. If Open as Web App is shown, leave it switched on, then tap Add.
  6. Return to your Home Screen and tap the new Club 1000+ icon. It should open in its own app window. Sign in with your existing account if asked.
  7. Turn on push notifications from inside this Home Screen app using the steps below.

Apple also describes adding a web app to the Home Screen.

The Club 1000+ sign-in screen with email, password and the Sign in button, shown after opening the app.
After adding the app, open its Home Screen icon and sign in with your existing account. This is the app screen; use Safari’s Share menu for the installation steps above.

Mac: install with Safari

On macOS Sonoma 14 or later, we recommend installing Club 1000+ in Safari with Add to Dock.

  1. Open Safari and visit club1000plus.com/app/index.php.
  2. In the menu bar at the top of the screen, choose File → Add to Dock. You can also use Safari's Share button → Add to Dock.
  3. Use Club 1000+ as the name, then click Add.
  4. Click the new Dock icon. The app opens in its own window; sign in if asked. You can also find it using Spotlight or in your user Applications folder.
  5. Enable notifications from inside the Dock app using the steps below, even if you already allowed notifications in Safari.

If Add to Dock is unavailable on an older macOS release, use the Chrome instructions above with a supported Chrome version, or continue in your browser. See Apple's Safari web app guide for Mac.

After installing on Mac or Windows, open My Profile → Account Management and choose Notifications (outlined). This shows the app; Safari’s Add to Dock menu is outside this screen.

Windows: install with Microsoft Edge

  1. Open an up-to-date Microsoft Edge in a normal browser window and visit club1000plus.com/app/index.php.
  2. Click the install icon in the address bar if offered. Otherwise, open Settings and more (the three dots) → More tools → Apps → Install this site as an app. Some versions show Apps directly in the menu.
  3. Check the name, then click Install.
  4. Open the installed app and sign in. Choose Pin to taskbar, Pin to Start or Create Desktop shortcut if offered.
  5. To add a shortcut later, enter edge://apps in Edge, find Club 1000+, and open Details to choose a pin or shortcut. Complete notification setup below.

See Microsoft's Edge app installation and shortcut instructions.

Windows or Mac: install with Google Chrome

  1. Open an up-to-date Google Chrome in a normal browser window and visit club1000plus.com/app/index.php.
  2. Click the install icon in the address bar if available. Otherwise, open the three-dot menu → Cast, save, and share → Install page as app.
  3. Confirm the name and click Install. Club 1000+ opens in its own window.
  4. Sign in with your existing account. On Windows, right-click its running taskbar icon and choose Pin to taskbar. On Mac, Control-click its Dock icon and choose Options → Keep in Dock.
  5. To find it again, enter chrome://apps in Chrome and select Club 1000+. On Windows, right-click its entry and choose Create shortcut for a desktop shortcut. Complete notification setup below.

See Google's Chrome web app installation instructions.

Find notification settings

In Account Management, tap the outlined Notifications Edit button to open email and push settings.

Turn on push notifications

  1. Launch Club 1000+ using the installed Home Screen, Dock, desktop or Start icon and sign in.
  2. Tap your photo or initials, then Account Management. On a computer, click your name at the foot of the sidebar, choose My Profile, then Account Management.
  3. Open the Notifications editor and find the Push notifications part.
  4. Tap Turn on for this browser, then choose Allow in the permission prompt. Wait for On for this browser. Installation alone does not grant this permission.
  5. Leave the categories you want ticked, such as Likes, Comments and mentions, Friends' new posts, Fasting goal or Dose reminders, then save the Notifications editor. Coaching categories appear when they apply to your account. Email choices are separate from push.
  6. Repeat this setup on each device or browser where you want push. Category choices apply across your account; permission to receive push is set separately on each installation.

Supported push alerts can reach the installed app while its window is closed. Delivery depends on your connection, device settings and the kind of alert. Installing does not make every timer run in the background: the website's rest timer needs its page open and the phone unlocked. See water and fasting help for fasting alerts.

The Notifications editor scrolled to Push notifications, with Turn on for this browser outlined above the Activity feed category switches.
Tap Turn on for this browser (outlined), allow notifications when asked, choose the alerts you want and save. Repeat inside each installed app.

Check notification permissions

If alerts do not appear, first open the installed app and check that Notifications says On for this browser. and the category you need is ticked.

  • iPhone or iPad: use iOS or iPadOS 16.4 or later, and launch from the Home Screen icon. After requesting permission in the app, open Settings → Notifications → Club 1000+ (or the name you chose) and enable Allow Notifications. Choose the Lock Screen, banners and sounds you want. If it is not listed, return to the Home Screen app and request permission there.
  • Mac: open the Apple menu → System Settings → Notifications. For a Safari Dock app, select its app name; for Chrome, check Chrome's entry too. Allow notifications and choose your alert style.
  • Windows: open Settings → System → Notifications. Turn notifications on and allow the browser or app entry that sends your alerts.
  • Blocked in Edge or Chrome: open Club 1000+ in the browser you installed it with, click the site controls beside the address, open site permissions and allow Notifications. Reopen the installed app and try Turn on for this browser again.
  • Check Focus or Do Not Disturb, your internet connection, and whether your device is asleep or switched off. An installed app does not override these settings.

Common questions

Is a bookmark the same as installing the web app?

A browser bookmark saves a link. Use Add to Home Screen with Open as Web App enabled when shown on iPhone or iPad, Add to Dock in Safari on Mac, or the install option in Edge or Chrome. On iPhone and iPad, an ordinary bookmark or Safari tab cannot receive web push notifications.

I cannot find the install option

Open the app page in Safari on iPhone or iPad, Edge or Chrome on Windows, or Safari or Chrome on Mac. Use a normal window rather than private or Incognito browsing, update your browser and operating system, and check whether Club 1000+ is already installed. Safari's Add to Dock requires macOS Sonoma 14 or later. A work or school device may restrict installation; ask its administrator if the option is disabled.

The Home Screen icon opens a browser tab

Check that you installed from the app page. If your device shows Open as Web App during Add to Home Screen, switch it on. If the existing icon is only a shortcut, remove that icon and add it again with the steps above. Open the new icon, sign in with the same account and enable push there again.

Do I need another account for the installed app?

Use the same Club 1000+ account. You may be asked to sign in again because the installed app can have a separate sign-in session. Your saved workouts, food and check-ins stay with your account; installing does not create a second account.
